August 20, 2008 Dear All, It has been a year and two months since I started doing my internship year with CCUSA (Thailand)/CHI. I have to say this is such a great valuable experience and what I have been looking for since I was in the University. I first started with difficulty in making decision in which way I would like to continue my path after a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance and Banking. It had been such a dilemma to think of either doing Master degree or starting a career because they both are needed for my life. At the same time I luckily heard about the internship program and was interest in joining as I thought it would be great chance to learn new experiences. |
||||
| And that is it. I started my new journey from joining this wonderful program with CCUSA(Thailand)/CHI. First, I would like to pass my thankful to both CCUSA(Thailand) and CHI as they both have been supportive since I started the program. It took them not even a month to place me and anther month to progress my visa and until now they have been still taking care of me. The first day I got here, the other two interns picked me up at SFO airport. I was both tired from a long flight and was excited as it would be my first job after graduated. They both are from different countries but they were roommates, which was the first thing I was impressed by. Since the first day, I have learnt a lot about culture differences.We are all form different countries and different cultures but we all share the same world with understanding and respectful for each culture. I have always been impressed with how people her live in the diversity of races and nationalities from the movies but now I am here and touching all these feelings by myself. It is amazing. I share my Thai culture, learn their cultures and have the best friends from Japan and Columbia which it would never happened if I were in Thailand. We have such a wonderful year together not only three of us but other friends from more than ten countries. Working in a foreign country makes a huge different attitude from each person, more self-confident as I first was the only Thai working here and of course more tolerance. Thankfully, that all CHI people are really kind, helpful and understanding differences. They do not mind me asking millions of question as for a foreigner’s curiosity can be. They give me advices and have been warm hearted to me so I do not have a lot of homesickness. They also make sure that I am happy staying here. I have also learnt a lot about their special holidays and traditional food for each special occasion which it is impossible to learn from the textbook. I enjoy have several months left to enjoy my experiences here; I will do my best to learn more about the job itself and to enjoy my stay. I hope that my experiences will encourage some of you in term of exploring the world and learning new experiences. Make sure you have tried different ways of life and learn from them as much as you can. One day you will realize how valuable these experiences can be. |

before in Thailand. It is more strict, we all take it serious when we work. On the other hand, when it’s time to play, I always as well make sure I spend some free time exploring other parts of this country. Language barrier is not a problem for me. I find people here are very friendly and they are willing to help you if you need any help. I’ve got another eight months to go here in this country, and I’m still getting excited of what tomorrow will bring. Life here is full with dreams and hopes in one of the greatest country of the world, USA. |
